Stock exchange hours, live

Share prices move most while their home exchange is open. The clock shows which major exchanges are trading now and when the next one opens, in your time zone.

How it works

  • Each exchange is defined in its own local time, so daylight-saving changes are applied automatically.
  • Regular sessions only: pre-market, after-hours, lunch breaks and public holidays are not shown.
  • Index CFDs are often quoted nearly around the clock from futures prices; share CFDs usually only trade while the exchange is open.

Questions

Why do index CFDs move when the exchange is closed?

Many providers price index CFDs from futures, which trade almost 24 hours on weekdays. Liquidity outside the cash session is thinner, so spreads are usually wider.

What happens at the open?

Overnight news is priced in at once, so the first minutes are often the most volatile and prices can gap past stop levels.
